The good folks at UNC Charlotte had a problem: boring, blank walls blanketed a high-traffic building with a rich and spirited history. On the surface, the Cone Center Marketplace appears to be just another foodcourt, but spend some time there and you’ll realize it’s so much more. It’s a place for students, faculty, staff, and visitors to escape the same-old cafeteria food. A place for group projects, hanging outs, meetings, gossip, laughter, last minute cramming and post-test recovery.

UNC Charlotte looked those blank walls and saw a problem. I saw stories unfolding on a fresh canvas. History swirling with the present telling of a vibrant university’s heart and soul.
